Katarzyna Estate came back with four medals from the Vinalies Internationales held in Paris from February 26 to March 2. This exceptional success has helped the winery become recognizable as one of the top wine makers not only in Bulgaria but also in the world. Question mark 2007 won a gold medal and Katarzyna Reserve 2006, Contemplations 2007 Merlot and Malbec won silver medals. In addition, Les Amandiers 2006 Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc won a silver medal and the brand is the only Bulgarian white wine ever to win a medal.
The French Union of Enologists organizes Vinalies Internationales. There were over 3500 samples from all over the world entered into the competition this year. The jury’s mission was to grade all samples and provide a comment about the tasting. After the end of the blind tasting, the jury chairman sums up all comments and, if needed, gives an opportunity to debate in order to reach a consensus.
The International Organization of Vine and Wine, the International Union of Enologists and the World Competitions- Global Wine and Sprits approve the regulations for Vinalies Internationales.
